This doctor gets right to the ‘point’ Fairmont pediatrician also practices acupuncture

It’s one of the oldest medical techniques known to man, yet most Americans know very little about it. In China, the art of acupuncture can be traced back as far as the Bronze Age, 3,000 B.C., when stone needles were used. In this area it can be traced back seven years ago when Dr. Matei Teodorescu moved from New York City to Fairmont. “I have always had an interest in acupuncture, “ Dr. Teodorescu says. “Ever since I first attended a workshop about the technique.” Several years ago he was at UCLA in California and became a board certified physican in the ancient practice of sticking needles into a human body. Dr. Teodorescu’s interest in acupuncture is not his main calling. He came to the Fairmont Medical Center as their first, and only, pediatrician. “Pediatrics is the main portion of my practice,” Dr, Teodorescu says. “I see just two or three patients a day for acupuncture treatments.
