A tract commencing at the Southeast corner of the West Half of the South East Quarter (W1/2 of SE1/4) of Section Thirty-two (32) in Township One Hundred and One (101) North of Range Twenty-seven (27) West of the Fifth Principal Meridian in the County of Faribault, State of Minnesota, thence North along the East line of the West Half of said South East Quarter (SE1/4) a distance of Fifty-seven (57) rods to the point of beginning, thence West along a line parallel to the South line of said South East Quarter twelve (12) rods, thence North along a line parallel to the East line of the West Half of said South East Quarter Eight (8) rods, thence East along a line parallel to the South line of said South East Quarter twelve (12) rods, and thence South along the East line of the West Half of said South East Quarter eight (8) rods to the point of beginning, EXCEPTING THEREFROM the East two rods as measured at right angles from the east line thereof, for street purposes.

The object of this action is to obtain a judgment that Plaintiff is the owner in fee of the above described real property and that none of the said Defendants have any estate or interest therein or lien thereon.

BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

I.S.D. #2860

September 14, 2009

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D #2860 was held on Monday, September 14, 2009 at the Blue Earth Area District Office, Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: F. Bly, T. Cahill, M. Eckhardt, D. Fellows, S. Becker, V. Hanson, J. Haugh

Absent: None

Also attending were Supt. Brandsoy, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Bly. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On an Eckhardt/Haugh motion the board approved the agenda. Unanimous approval.

Public Input: none

On a Hanson/Cahill motion the board approved the minutes of the August 10, 2009 regular board meeting. Unanimous approval.

On a Fellows/Becker motion, six transfers/wires and payment of bills in the amount of $701,996 were approved. Unanimous approval.

Chairperson Bly reported thanked members for helping at the Welcome Back Breakfast and Staff Picnic. He also thanked the Pork Producers for serving at the Staff Picnic.

Superintendent Brandsoy gave his report, including a summary of the back-to-school workshop and

the first week of school for students and staff. He also updated the group on MSBA's summer seminar speakers and reminded board members of upcoming meetings including MSBA Fall area meetings on Sept. 16 and Faribault County elected officials meeting on Sept. 16.

Principal’s Grant, McGuire and Eustice gave reports to the board. Grant’s before school conferences went well. McGuire gave an update on technology and a viewpoint demonstration. Eustice gave an update on MCA testing for the high school.

Action Items:

Al Gieser presented a summary of summer projects completed by his staff.

Sharon Hoyt gave the board an update on the H1N1 Flu.

Superintendent Brandsoy presented to the board the student enrollment for 2009-2010.

On a Fellows/Eckhardt motion, the Student Accountability Report for 2008-2009 was approved. Unanimous approval.

Member Haugh introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolution appointing election judges for the November 3, 2009 school district special election. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Becker and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof – Bly, Cahill, Haugh, Hanson, Eckhardt, Fellows, Becker. The following voted against: none. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

On a Becker/Hanson motion, the board certified the proposed property tax levy for the maximum amount allowed. The final levy will be discussed and certified and the public will be allowed to speak at the board meeting on December 14, 2009 beginning at 6:30 p.m.at the Blue Earth Area District Office, Blue Earth, MN. Unanimous approval.

On an Eckhardt/Haugh motion, the board approved the contract of Marnie Norman. Unanimous approval.

On a Fellows/Eckhardt motion, the board approved the leave of absence of Karrie Owen, Food Service Worker. Unanimous approval.

On a Becker/Cahill motion, the board approved the lane changes for Jennifer Berkner, Sharon Hoyt, Susan Schoenfelder, Cathy Bell, Brian Kokos, Doug Storbeck and Roger Schoenfelder. Unanimous approval.

On an Eckhardt/Hanson motion, the meeting was closed at 7:46 p.m. for the sole purpose of a negotiation update in regards to the certified staff contract. Unanimous approval.

On an Eckhardt/Becker motion, the meeting was opened at 8:37 p.m. Unanimous approval.

On a Fellows/Cahill motion, the board adjourned at 8:38 p.m. Unanimous approval.
