NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR LIVESTOCK

FEEDLOT PERMIT

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 116, that Ryan O’Hara has made application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency or County of Faribault for a permit to construct a feedlot with the capacity of 500 animal units or more.

The existing and/or proposed feedlot will be located in the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 5, Pilot Grove Township (T. 101N., R. 28W.), Minnesota. The existing facility consists of 299 slaughter steer/heifers (299 animal units) housed in partial confinement barns with open lots with manure pack on the lot floors. The proposed facility consists of 700 slaughter steers/heifers (700 animal units) housed in total and partial confinement barns with open lots with manure pack on the lot floors. The proposed new facility will consist of 2 total confinement barns (40 feet x 240 feet) with manure pack on the floors. The total animal unit capacity will be 999 animal units.

This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the proposed feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.

A Public Meeting will be held on August 3, 2010, 10:00 a.m., at the Faribault County Board of Commissioners meeting in the Faribault County Courthouse for citizen input in request to the feedlot being permitted.
