Funeral Services were held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. The Rev. Wesley Hafner officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation was one hour prior to services at Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Marie was born Jan. 4, 1921, at Pilot Grove Township, the daughter of Frederick and Amelia (Mahlow) Brodie. She was baptized at Pilot Grove Lutheran Church on Aug. 28, 1921, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth where she belonged to the Martha Guild and Naomi Circle. She grew up in Faribault County on a farm. In 1945, her family moved to Blue Earth; she was a Faribault County resident all her life. She had worked at the Friesen Variety Store, Central Café, Home Café, Wellington Hotel and had done housework at various places. She loved flowers and gardening.
Marie is survived by her longtime special friend Justus Amundson; her nephew, William Snow and wife Marcia, and their children, Amelia Marie and Nathan W. Snow; nephew, Fred Snow and former wife Janice Snow, and their children, Debbie, Diana and David Snow; and several other cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1963; her mother in 1988; and her sister, Neva Brodie Snow McGrady on May 20, 1990.
