Funeral Services were held Nov. 15, 2011, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton. The Rev. Thomas Niehaus officiated. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Prescott Township, Faribault County. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Interfaith Caregivers or to the Macular Degeneration Association.
Elaine was born Jan. 5, 1928, the daughter of Curtis and Vera (Whitehead) Velta in Delavan Township, Faribault County. She graduated as the Salutatorian from Delavan High School, the class of 1945. She married Howard Millmann on Feb. 23, 1961, in Blue Earth.
Elaine had worked at Stokley-Van Camp in Winnebago and was also the assistant manager of the Delavan Municipal Liquor Store until her retirement. She volunteered at the Delavan library and also as an election official. Her interests included socializing with friends and family, playing cards, reading, gardening, spending time with her beloved Siamese “Miss Kitty”, visiting casinos, going to horse tracks and watching races. She was also active in several clubs including Garden Club, Book Club and Bible study.
Elaine is survived by two children, Patricia “Patsy” (Dobbelaere) Planidin, of San Jose, Calif., and Terry (Tami) Dobbelaere, of North Mankato; five grandchildren, Brent (Theresa) Feller, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Laurie (Jason) Berberian, of Castro Valley, Calif., Brad (Lisa) Feller, of San Jose, Calif., Tina (John) Grimm, of Minneapolis, and Tara (Chris) Bolchen, of South St. Paul; 11 great-grandchildren with two more arriving; along with her beloved “Miss Kitty”, recently relocated to San Jose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Millmann, and her son, Larry Dobbelaere.
