Stewart-ville native Kyla Jacobs has been hired and is expected to start her new duties on Jan. 2.
“The feeling at Parker Oaks is a very warm and caring community,” says Jacobs. “I’m also excited to be a part of the Winnebago community.”
On Monday, Jacobs spent the day filling out employment forms, touring the facility and introducing herself to staff and residents.
Since Nov. 16, Dorothy Baker has served as the facility’s interim administrator.
Baker is the regional representative for long-term care facilities ElderCare of Minnesota operating in Adrian, Truman, Wells and Winnebago.
Baker says the administrator position was advertised on a trade association website and local newspapers.
In all, six applications were received and three finalists were chosen for interviews.
“There are a lot of good candidates out there,” Baker says. “We were happy and thrilled when she said yes on Dec.1.”
Jacobs is fresh out of college, graduating this past summer from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, with a major in health care administration.
Currently, she is working full time as a project coordinator at the Northfield Retirement Community. To see more of this article, see this week's Register.
