The Blue Earth Area boys basketball team is preparing to host their annual holiday tournament Dec. 27 and 28.
Making up the field for the fifth year in a row will be Jackson County Central, United South Central, Granada-Huntley-East Chain and BEA.
Kicking off the tournament Dec. 27 will be JCC taking on USC at 6 p.m.
JCC enters the tilt at 0-5. USC carries with them a 3-1 mark overall.
BEA and GHEC will battle in the second game of the night, tipping off at 7:45 p.m.
BEA will be looking for their first win of the season after starting the year 0-5.
The GHEC Mustangs will pose a challenging match-up for the Bucs as they enter the contest 5-1 overall.
The winners of the first round games will face off in the championship at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 28. The losers of the first round games will play a curtain raiser prior to the final at 6 p.m.
All of the varsity games will be played at Blue Earth Area High School.
In conjunction with the varsity games scheduled, there will also be a B-squad tournament at the BEA Middle School.
BEA and GHEC tipoff tournament play Dec. 27 at 6 p.m.
JCC and USC will follow, beginning at 7:45 p.m.
Winners of the B squad first round games will play Dec. 28 at 7:45 p.m. The losers will play at 6 p.m.
Admission for the tournament games will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.
