A level three sex offender will be moving into the city of Winnebago, city officials recently announced.
The Winnebago Police Department will hold a notification meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m. This meeting will be held at the city municipal building meeting room and is open to all who have questions. Information will be provided on the level three sex offender who will be moving into the community on Jan. 18.
Community notification meetings are held to alert neighbors when a level three registered predatory offender indicates he or she will be moving into a neighborhood, says Austin Bleess, Winnebago city administrator.
Information on the offender, notification program and safety information will be provided at the meeting. Representatives from the Department of Corrections, Winnebago Police Department and the Faribault County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand to answer any questions.
There are no other level three offenders currently living within the City of Winnebago, Bleess says.
He adds that no information concerning the offender will be released until the meeting at which time fact sheets and photos will be provided.
Those unable to attend the meeting can direct their questions to the Winnebago Police Department either by phone at (507) 893-3218, or by e-mail at email@example.com.
