The Bucs won the meet 130.15 to 126.85.
Thompson scored 33.675 points for first place in all-around, just ahead of Anderson who had a 33.6 for second place.
The Cobras grabbed third and fourth place.
Thompson placed in the top four spots in every rotation.
She took a first place in the floor exercise with a score of 8.725. She was second on the uneven parallel bars with an 8.10.
Thompson tied for second on the vault with an 8.8, the only Buc to place in this event.
And, she took third on the balance beam with an 8.05.
Anderson grabbed a couple of first place finishes. She took first on bars with an 8.75 and first on beam with 8.175.
She was also second on floor exercise with a score of 8.375.
Marissia Hagedorn, working her way back from an earlier in the season injury, took a couple of fourth place finishes – on the bars with a 7.9 and on the beam with a 7.975.
Haley Resutek also had a fourth place finish, for floor exercise, scoring an 8.175.
Resutek scored 31.625 all around points, while teammate Kayla Schaper scored 28.975.
“I could not have been more proud of the performance tonight,” Buc coach Melissa Storbeck says. “We have been waiting all season for everyone to hit their routines on the same night – it was fun to watch.”
The Buccaneer junior varsity squad also notched a victory, downing the Cobras by a score of 86 to 73.8. Neither team fielded a full squad in every event.
Brianna Ziegler led the junior Bucs with an all-around score of 26.8. Ziegler, Erin Olson and Erin Wiltse all had first place finishes.
This week the Buccaneers (4-4 for the season) will compete in the South Central Conference Meet in New Ulm on Friday.
St. James 109.75
The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team notched their third win of the season when they traveled to St. James on Friday afternoon, Jan. 27.
The Bucs downed the Saints 124.8 to 109.75.
BEA was led by Chante Anderson who took top honors in all-around with a score of 32.975, and teammate Cassie Thompson who was a close second place finisher at 32.525.
Anderson grabbed a first place finish on the uneven parallel bars with a score of 8.65 and on the balance beam with a 7.650.
She also was third in floor exercise with a score of 8.8625.
Thompson nabbed the first place honors in floor with an 8.950. She was also first on the vault, receiving a score of 9.15 from the judges.
Thompson also was second on the uneven bars with a score of 7.85.
Haley Resutek was in fourth place in all-around with a score of 30.85 and placed in the top four in all four rotations.
She was third on the vault with 8.7 and on the bars with 7.75. She was in fourth place on the beam with 6.65 and in floor with a score of 7.75.
Buccaneer Kayla Schaper was in a fourth place tie on the beam with a score of 7.15.
The Buccaneer junior varsity lost 82.65 to 70.5 to the Saints. BEA was led by Gracie Leland who had an all-around score of 24.1.
