The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team finished their season with a seventh-place finish at the Section 2A Gymnastics Meet on Friday, Feb.17.
The Buccaneers scored a team total 130.225, just below sixth-place finisher New Ulm's 130.675.
There were 10 teams in the competition.
Taking first and advancing to the State Meet was New Prague with a score of 147.225.
In second was Waconia with a score of 140.85 and third at 139.95 was Watertown-Mayer.
Waseca took fourth and Mankato West fifth.
The Bucs were led by Cassie Thompson, who scored a 33.325 in all-around.
Teammate Chante Anderson was right behind Thompson with an all-around score of 33.175.
Anderson was the only BEA gymnast to score in the top 10 in any of the events.
She received a score of 9.050 on the uneven parallel bars, good for a tie for fifth place.
Other Buc gymnasts all-around scores were Marissia Hagedorn with a 32.075, Haley Resutek with 30.9 and Kayla Schaper with 30.275.
The Bucs scored a 34.3 on the vault, 32.8 on the bars, 29.375 on the beam and 33.75 on the floor exercise for their team total of 130.225.
