Winnebago Dale L. Wiederholt, age 70, of Winnebago, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center.
Funeral Services were held on March 23, 2012, at Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago. The Rev. Bob Bailey officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago assisted with the arrangements.
He was born Oct. 10, 1941, at Blue Earth, the son of Theodore and Elaine (Henke) Wiederholt. In 1959 he graduated from Blue Earth High School, where he was an outstanding wrestler. On July 15, 1960, he joined the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged on July 14, 1966. He married Kathleen R. Kogel, July 22, 1967, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Together they had three children, Michelle, Tom and Chad. Dale worked various management jobs in retail from Dale's Jack &?Jill, Tempo Stores, Pamida, and finally Wal-Mart.
He was a Boy Scout leader, member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago, loved bowling, yard work, fishing up north at the cabin, the Blue Earth "Bucs", and was very passionate about his grandchildren.
He is survived by his spouse, Kathy Wiederholt, of Winnebago; his mother, Elaine Wiederholt, of Blue Earth; daughter, Michelle (DuWayne) Berndt, of Easton; sons, Tom Wiederholt, of Winnebago, and Chad (Celeste) Wiederholt, of Richfield; brother, Mark (Terri) Wiederholt, of Winsted; brother-in-law, Doug Krinke, of Blue Earth; sisters, LaFaye Weise, of Blue Earth, Marie (Marv) Johnston, of Fairmont, Gail (Bruce) Gudahl, of Blue Earth, Danette (John) Enger, of Mankato, Sheri (Tom) Moench, of Lakeville, and Deb (Bill) Hanson, of Rosemount; grandchildren, Joshua Berndt, Abigail Berndt, Nicholas Wiederholt, and Ava Wiederholt; sisters-in-law, Florence (Donald) Wishman, of Huntley, Ruthie Schulenburg, of Huntley, Linda (Larry) Bosma, of Mansfield, Texas, and Debbie Wingard, of Sugarland, Texas; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted; infant brother, Henry; sister, Susan Krinke; and brother-in-law, Chuck Schulenburg.
