Blue Earth Jerry Bruce Arndt, age 66, of Blue Earth, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at United Hospital District.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. The Rev. Arthur Keith officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Feb. 12, 1946, at Blue Earth, the son of Lawrence and Lillian (Read) Arndt. He was educated in Huntley and Everett, Wash., with two years of college at Mankato State. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving one year in Vietnam. Jerry then spent 32 years as a truck driver. He was the post commander of VFW post 4580 in Blue Earth, a member of the Honor Guard, life member of the American Legion post 89 in Blue Earth, charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4486, and proud member of the In Country Vietnam Motorcycle Club. He was always happiest spending time among his friends and family.
He is survived by his spouse, Glenda Arndt, of Blue Earth; children, Rob (Liane) Erdle, Rick Erdle (special friend, Sandy), Larry Arndt, and Jessica (Clint) Eastman; brother, Max (Dorothy) Arndt; sisters, Caroline (Jim) Whitney, of Blue Earth, and Connie (Hank) Cook; mother-in-law, Lois Vosburgh; five grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Lillian; siblings, Willis, Elaine, Allan, Jack, Murray and Clyde; and countless Brothers in Arms.
