Blue Earth Bob Livengood, age 81, of Blue Earth, passed away early Thursday morning, May 24, 2012, after battling cancer.
He was being cared for by family and staff at Goldfinch Estates Memory Care in Fairmont.
Funeral Services were held May 29, 2012, at Hope United Methodist Church in Blue Earth. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.
Bob was born Sept. 29, 1930, in Knoxville, Tenn., the son of U.S. and Fern Livengood. He graduated from Central High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He returned home and was married to Betty Little in Sylvan, N.C., in 1956. The couple moved to Blue Earth where Bob worked for Eldon Eckles installing telephone dial systems. He also worked as an independent contractor for phone companies. In 1983 he retired from independent contracting but continued to work for Bevcomm for several years.
Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing with his son. He was a longtime member of the Blue Earth American Legion and Hope United Methodist Church.
Bob is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter,?Cheryl (Tom) Nesheim; son, Robert (Cori) Livengood; four grandchildren, Kerry Nesheim, Tim Nesheim, Lane Livengood and Bobbi Livengood; one sister, Rae Sisco, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ralph Livengood and sister-in-law, Betty Livengood, of Knoxville; and brother-in-law, William Sisco, of Jacksonville.
