Sioux Falls, S.D. Mona L. McDonald died June 4, 2012, at Covington Heights Nursing Home in Sioux Falls,?S.D.
Mona Laurel Wallace was born Oct. 28, 1928, in Faribault County to Stanley and Meryl (Seffens) Wallace. Mona lived on the family farm near Delavan, participated in dancing with Campmor Kilties and graduated from Delavan High School in 1946. Mona then moved to Sioux Falls where she remained the rest of her life. Mona was a telephone operator for the Veterans Administration, the telephone company, and the Federal Government.
From 1946 until 1975, she was married to Jerald McDonald, and together they had three children. Mona enjoyed the Black Hills, flea markets, and the company of her many friends.

Surviving Mona are her sons, Colin (Yvonne), of Erwin, S.D., and Shane (Terri), of Portage, Mich.; daughter, Toni, of Plymouth; three grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Neal (Evelyn) Wallace, Roger Wallace, and Lynn Wallace; sister-in-law, Arlyce Wallace; and many friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Meryl Wallace; brothers, Winton, Stanton, Miles and Curtis; and sister, Jean.
Services were held in Sioux Falls on June 7, 2012, at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment was held Saturday, June 9, at 11:30 a.m. in Rice Lake Cemetery, in Delavan.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.
Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls was in charge of arrangements.
