Holland, Mich. William C. Robertson (Robbie) was born in the community hospital in Winnebago on Dec. 31, 1932. He lived in the Huntley/Winnebago area for 20 years.
William attended the University of Minnesota and Mankato State University. He attained his Bachelor of Science in Business Education at Mankato. After graduation, he worked for the National Citizens bank for two years as a trainee in financial services.
William moved to the Holland, Mich., area in 1960 to begin a teaching career for Zeeland Public Schools. He was hired as a Business Education Instructor and became chairman of the business education program at Zeeland High School. In 1993, after 33 years, he retired from his teaching position in the Zeeland System. He was a member of the Mason's, and of the local, state and the National Education Associations. For 28 years, Robbie served as the Zeeland Education Association (ZEA) head negotiator. After retiring, he continued as a volunteer advisor to the ZEA negotiating team from 1993 to 2005.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary; a son, John and wife Jodi, of Zeeland; two grandchildren, Maclean Lowell and Connor John; sister, Lois, of Elmore; brother, John (Jack) Robertson, of Winnebago; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding William were his parents, Floyd and Clara; and brother, James, of Winnebago.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Holland. The Rev. Peter Theune officiated.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the First Presbyterian Church of Holland.
