After the first day of the Class A Boys State Golf Tournament at Pebble Creek near Becker, the United South Central boys team was in first place, after having carded a team total 327.
But, when the final score was tallied after the second day, the Rebels had fallen to fifth place.
The team tallied a two-day total of 671 strokes for the fifth-place finish.
USC was led by Ryan Pederson who was tied for 14th with a 160 score.
Cordell Weber of Martin County West earned medalist honors at the state tournament by shooting a 144 total.
The Rebels' Nick Neubauer was in a tie for the 33rd spot with a score of 166.
Teammate Cobi Bullerman came in with a 192, good for 78th position and Brett Ulrich was 83rd, carding a 203. Seth Olson was disqualified.
Blue Earth Area's lone boys golfer at the Class AA State Golf Tournament, played Tuesday and Wednesday at the Ridges at Sand Creek near Jordan, was Andy Aukes.
The Buc senior wound up in a tie for the 36th place in the state tournament.
Aukes was in 49th place after the first day, coming in with a 79 (38-41).
He improved his position the second day by carding another 79 (39-40).
Aukes had placed 28th in state last year at the State Tournament.
