Fairmont Services for Hugh W. Heinrich, age 100, of Fairmont, were held June 20, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Hugh passed away Thursday evening, June 14, 2012, at Ingelside Assisted Living in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home of Fairmont assisted the family with arrangements.
Hugh?Wesley Heinrich was born April 18, 1912, in Blue Earth, the son of William Edwin and Dora (VanDervoort) Heinrich. He attended school in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1932.
On Feb. 3, 1940, Hugh was united in marriage to Manda Hilgenmeier in Fairmont. Together the couple made their home in Fairmont where they were blessed with four children, Leslie, Wesley, Roger and?Rodney. Hugh and Manda celebrated 51 years of marriage before Manda passed away in 1991. In January 1992, Hugh was united in marriage to Irene Carlson. Hugh was a hard working and devoted family man. He began working for the City of Fairmont in 1942, and after 35 years of service he retired in April 1977, as the Street Commissioner. In his spare time, Hugh loved ballroom dancing, woodworking and traveling. He treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren and made sure to make as many of their high school and college sporting events as he could.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Irene Heinrich, of Fairmont; sons, Leslie (Peggy) Heinrich, of Fairmont, and their children, Sherry (Kenny), Julie and Gin; the late Wesley Heinrich's children,?Dena and Tracy; Roger (Sandra) Heinrich, of Fairmont, and his children, Lee (Becky) and Meredith; and Rod (Deb) Heinrich, of Fairmont, and their children, Jennifer, Jeffrey (Jen) and Justin. Hugh is also survived by Irene's children, Marlene, Judy, Carol (Randy) and Connie; several great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.
Hugh is preceded in death by his wife, Manda in 1991; a son, Wesley, in 2008; parents, William and Dora Heinrich; and six brothers and sisters.
The family requests memorials be given in Hugh's name to the American Cancer Society and United Hands Hospice.
