The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers volleyball team got their season off to a good start after taking the win Tuesday night in their match against the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights.
The Bucs wasted no time in taking sets, winning the match in just three games, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-23.
The Knights, however, didn't give the match up easily.

BEA?got ahead early on in the first set, starting off with a few point lead on LCWM.
The Bucs managed to keep a fair lead most of the game until near the end when the Knights closed the gap in the score.
The first set ended in BEA's favor at 25-21.
The second game kept fans on the edge of the bleachers as the teams played back and forth scoring for most of the set.
They tied up the score at 3-3 early on, forcing both teams to try to pull ahead.
The Bucs scored two and broke the tie, bringing the score up 5-3.
LCWM lagged behind BEA in the middle of the second game but eventually tied the score up again 13-13.
The teams rallied some more but eventually the Bucs put an end to the second game, winning 25-20.
The third game saw the Bucs gain a lead over the Knights who still managed to keep the score close.
BEA stayed ahead in the majority of the game when LCWM eventually closed the gap in the score, making for an exciting end to the match.
The score sat at 23-19 in the Bucs favor when the Knights came up from behind after the Bucs lost the serve.
BEA took the match winning point when LCWM's last serve landed out of bounds, ending the game at a very close 25-23.
Senior Krista Hassing led the Bucs in kills and ace blocks, with 13 kills and two blocks at the net. Hassing also managed six digs for the Bucs.
Janessa Jahnke also came in strong for the Bucs on Tuesday night, following along side Hassing, with 11 kills and one ace block. Jahnke led the team in digs, taking seven.
Monica Krieger contributed an outstanding 25 set assists. She also lead the team in serving with 17 of 18, four of them service aces. Krieger's serves brought in 13 points for the Bucs.
Nicole Krinke was also hot on the service line, serving 8 of 10 with two service aces. Her serves earned seven points for the team.
Senior Megan Wirtjes, serving 8 of 9, brought in five points.
Also aiding in the team's win against the Knights was Ashton Hendrickson who contributed five digs.
The 1-0 BEA Bucs ?went up against Le Sueur Henderson on Thursday in Blue Earth but was played after the Register's deadline, results will be featured in next week's issue.
Next week the Bucs volleyball team will play against St. James on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Blue Earth.
