BEA boys tennis team falls to New Ulm Eagles

The Blue Earth Area boys tennis team fell to the New Ulm Eagles on Thursday, losing 1-6.

The doubles team that proved victorious was comprised of Ben Gettis and Martin Granados, of BEA.

They took down Billy Griffith and John Goodall in two sets; 7-5 and 6-3.

The singles had some close calls.

No. 4 singles, Jaron King fell to Noah Stocker in three sets; 6-4, 5-7 and 0-6.

No. 3 singles, Eric Purvis fell shy of a win against Josh Koelpin; 3-6 and 4-6.

No. 1 singles Alex King from New Ulm overpowered Cole Klinksiek; 1-6 and 2-6.

No. 2 singles Hunter Myers fell to Cal Collum Jr.; 1-6 and 2-6.

Trenton Stindtman and Chandler Kienitz teamed up as No. 1 doubles against Isaiah Johnson and Nic Garnter, but lost; 0-6 for both sets.

No. 3 doubles, Spenser Timmerman and Mason Hehr lost to Taylor Tambornino and Dave Stuck; 0-6 for both sets.

With this being only the second competitive game of the season, the boys tennis team gave it a good shot.
