BEA?suffers two losses against the Cards

The Blue Earth Area baseball team played the neighboring Fairmont Cardinals on Thursday.

The rivals played a doubleheader at the Winnebago baseball field and BEA lost both games.

Brandyn Olsen pitched all seven innings of the first game which ended in a 10-3 loss for the Bucs.

Olsen allowed 10 runs, 10 hits, two walks and had six strikeouts.

Olsen also hitting for the Bucs, took a base on balls and crossed the plate for one run.

Seth Anderson hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning, and was 1 for 3 batting.

Carter Hanson had one run and also took a base on balls.

Christian Haugh was 2 for 3 batting and had one RBI.

Game 2; Fairmont 14, BEA 4

The second game was reduced to only five innings of play. BEA?suffered another loss for the day, 14-4.

Dallas Barslou pitched three innings. He allowed 10 runs, seven hits, three walks and had one strikeout.

Austin Gustufson pitched one inning. He allowed three runs, one hit, four walks and had two strikeouts.

Carter Hanson came in for 1/3 of an inning, allowing one run and two hits.

David Franta had three RBIs for the Bucs. He was 2 for 3 batting and had one run.

Barslou was 1 for 2 batting and crossed the plate for a run.

Brandyn Olsen was 1 for 1 batting. He took two bases on balls and accounted for one of BEAs runs.

Christian Haugh had two at bats and had one RBI?on a sacrifice hit.

Alec Huber also accounted for one of the Bucs runs off of 2 at bats.
