Trudy A. Harmon, 67

Blue Earth Trudy A. Harmon, age 67, of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully on Sept. 1, 2013, at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center.

Memorial Services were held on Sept. 5, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.

Trudy was born Jan. 13, 1946, to Roger W. and Helen J. (Jamieson) Duncan, in Monterey, Calif. She grew up in Blue Earth and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1964. During the 1960's Trudy danced with a Scottish Dancing group from Mapleton and participated in multiple area events. Trudy attended X-ray school at Hennepin County Hospital in Minneapolis and lived in Fridley prior to moving to Germany.

Trudy returned to the U.S. and in 1971 took a position at 3M in Fairmont which she held for 13 years and then later went to work for Dorendorf Jewelry in Blue Earth. In 1988 on Jan. 9, Trudy married Dean Harmon in their home town of Blue Earth. They owned and operated Roy Deans Steak House where she had the pleasure of nightly greetings to friends and families from the Blue Earth area.

Trudy was a ruling elder and directed the choir at First Presbyterian Church and later became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her brother, Steven Duncan, of Lake City, Fla.; sister, Pamela Patton, of Jacksonville, Fla.; son, Jason Nyberg, his wife, Sarah (Reichelt) Nyberg, granddaughter, Avia Grace Nyberg (3), of Boise, Idaho; granddaughters, Veronika Nyberg (22), and Sydney Nyberg (20), of Winter Park, Fla.; niece, Sarah Thormodson-Taylor; great niece, Bailey Rose Taylor, of Branford, Fla.; and Dean's son, Dean Harmon Jr. and family, of Sykesville, Md.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Duncan, and Arvin and Helen Stenehjem; her beloved husband, Dean Harmon; her son, Tyler Nyberg; and infant grandson of Tyler, Christopher Nyberg.

Trudy will be remembered most for her loving nature and infectious smile. Please join the family and friends in celebrating the life that touched so many.
