Early miscues lead to 3-0 loss

The Blue Earth Area volleyball team faced the New Ulm Eagles Thursday night.

But the Eagles took the Buccaneers in just three games. The first game ended 25-12, which seemed to light a fire in the girls in maroon and gold.

The Bucs managed to keep the scores a little closer, but were still not able to tally a win. The next two games went to the Eagles as well, 25-22 and 25-19.

Audrey McDonald was 9 for 10 at the service line acquiring three points. She also had three kills and nine digs.

Ciarra Olson also had nine digs and managed five kills.

Nicole Krinke led the Bucs in set assists, totaling nine of them. She also had seven digs and eight kills.

Kylie Ahl also contributed set assists for her team with a total of six.

Haley Resutek was 10 for 11 serving with two aces. She also had seven digs.

Sam Ripley and Elizabeth Ellis played at the net for BEA and they tallied two blocks a piece.

Their loss against the Eagles, a South Central Conference team, puts their conference record at 0-8 and their overall record at 2-19.

The next Buc volleyball match will take place in Fairmont. BEA?will travel to take on their rivals on Tuesday night.

JCC 3, BEA?0

The Blue Earth Area volleyball team kicked off homecoming week on Monday night when they hosted the Jackson County Central Huskies.

Although they had strong Buc Pride, thanks to the homecoming events, they still couldn't find the footing to get ahead of their opponent.

The Huskies won in three games, 25-10, 25-8 and 25-7.

Audrey McDonald was 7 for 8 at the service line, scoring one ace and three service points. She also had seven digs.

Ciarra Olson had five digs and four kills, while teammate Kylie Ahl also managed five digs.

Nicole Krinke led her team with six set assists. She also had two kills.

BEA?Tournament

The Buccaneer volleyball team hosted the Blue Earth Area Invitational Tournament last Saturday, with five other schools in attendance.

They played the best two out of three against each team, and the Bucs started out against Minnesota Valley Lutheran.

MVL won the first two games against BEA, but the Bucs managed to keep the scores close, 25-20 and 25-22.

Audrey McDonald was 9 for 9 serving and had two aces. She also had five kills and four digs.

Ciarra Olson led the team in digs, acquiring seven in the match against MVL. She was also 5 for 5 serving with one ace and had one ace block.

BEA next went up against Southwest Star Concept, who took the victory, 25-11 and 25-12.

Haley Resutek was 5 for 7 at the service line and had one ace.

Nicole Krinke led the team with six set assists. She also had four digs and two ace blocks.

New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva also defeated the Bucs with a score of 25-18 and 25-11.

McDonald had nine digs in this match and also was 7 for 8 serving with one ace.

BEA?had a small burst of energy when they played Martin County West, but still lost 25-20 and 25-9.

McDonald was a perfect 5 for 5 serving and had two aces she also led the team with seven digs and had two kills.

The last game was played against the LeSueur-Henderson Giants. They took the win 25-19 and 25-12.

McDonald had eight digs, four kills and was 8 for 8 serving.

Ciarra Olson was on top of things at the net, racking up four ace blocks.

Kylie Ahl had three set assists and five digs in this match.
