Fairmont Funeral Service for Cheryl J. Cyphers, age 56, of Fairmont, was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
Cheryl passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, 2013, at her home in Fairmont. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont was in charge of arrangements.
Cheryl Jean (Prafke) Cyphers was born on June 2, 1957, in Fairmont. She was the daughter of Merlys and Lenagene (Swanson) Prafke. She attended Fairmont public schools and graduated from Fairmont High School.
Cheryl worked at various places in Fairmont throughout her life. She also worked at Kerry Ingredients in Blue Earth as quality control. During her free time, Cheryl was active with military support groups as well as researching the family genealogy and documenting the family tree. She also enjoyed planning holiday get-togethers for the family as well as restoring old furniture and doing yard work. Cheryl most loved spending time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other children.
Left to cherish her memory include her children, Tabitha Jeffries, of Mankato, Aaron Traver, of Fairmont, Helena (Mike) Zea, of Mankato, and Michalia Cyphers (special friend, Kyle Freesemann); grandchildren, Samantha and Jaxon Jeffries, and Dalton and Levi Simpson; parents, Merlys and Lenagene Prafke, of Fairmont; sisters, Pam (Craig) Olson, of Fairmont, Lori (Mert) Kutnink, of Fairmont, and Patty (Mike) Sohn, of Blue Earth.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandmother, Viola Swanson; and great-niece, Kasey Scheff.
