Ernest E. Passer, 75

Wells Ernest Edward Passer, age 75, of Wells, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester due to complications of diabetes.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Rev. Peter Soli will officiate and interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells. Military honors will be accorded by the Wells Color Guard. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest was born Oct. 9, 1938, in Albert Lea to Howard and Edna (Tatge) Passer. He graduated from Wells High School in 1956, and he served in the National Guard from 1961-1967. He was united in marriage to Patricia Weigel June 23, 1972, in Marshfield, Wis. Ernest was a very devoted and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. One of his special joys was attending the sporting events of his three children. He loved being a farmer and he had a special interest in cattle production. Ernest was the fourth generation on the family farm.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; three children, Robert (Jodi) Passer, of Wells, Julie (Pete) Vander Bleek, of DeKalb, Ill., and Jane (Mark) Domroese, of LaCrosse, Wis.; 10 grandchildren, Madison and Ethan Passer, Reagan, Charlie, Samantha, Henry, and Ruby Vander Bleek, and Elise, Lauren, and Valerie Domroese; sister, Nordean (Duane) Frank, of Bismarck, N.D.; niece, Kim Oster, of Denver, Colo.; and nephew, Kevin Frank, of Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family wishes to thank the dialysis staff at Health Reach for the loving care they gave Ernie.
