Wells Bruce Lorenz, age 68, of Wells, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday, April 19, 2014.

A Memorial Service was held April 23, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bruce Lorenz was born Sept. 22, 1945, the eldest son of Forest and Angela (Bogenschutz) Lorenz, in Albert Lea. Bruce graduated from Bricelyn High School, the class of 1963, where he was an all-conference football player among many other talents. He attended Luther College and the University of Minnesota. Dec. 16, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sandra Beckman in Bricelyn. Bruce went on to find success in life in many different fields and occupations including accounting, farming, bowling alley operation and computer services. Bruce had the gift of being good at many things. He was a man of few words who saw what needed to be done and quietly did it. He was always willing to help with projects and when he was on board you knew the project was going to get done and get done well.

Among his many interests, Bruce enjoyed motorcycling, working outside, music and road trips with Sandy. Bruce really loved his grandkids. He spent time with them and looked after them often. Bruce enjoyed a love and deep respect from so many people, and his smile will be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, of Wells; three children, Ben (Molly), Josh (Amy) Lorenz, and Betsy (Chris) Bushlack; 14 grandchildren, Breck, Jack, Cole, and Olivia Lorenz; Aurora, Isabel, Ava, Estelle, Axel and Osborne Lorenz; and Joseph, Ethan, Alix and Zale Bushlack; brothers, James (Evelyn) and Scott (Toni) Lorenz; and brothers-in-law, Steve (Linda),?Tracy (Janel), and Troy (Anita)?Beckman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Bruce very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Angela; his in-laws, Harold and Lucille Beckman; and one brother in infancy.
