Raymond Berdell Peterson was born on July 3, 1930, in Delavan, to Anton and Alma (Haneland) Peterson. He grew up and went to school in Blue Earth and served his country in the Army from 1953-1955, in Korea. Raymond was united in marriage to Arlene Cassens on Dec 7, 1956, in Mankato. Together they raised three children and farmed the family farm for over 30 years. In 1985 they moved to their vacation home in Crosslake. Raymond's faith in God and his love for his wife and family were his biggest blessings. Raymond loved to hunt with his sons, grandsons, and nephews throughout Minnesota and out West. These hunting adventures left us all with many great stories and lasting memories. He enjoyed helping his boys out at the nursery, traveling to Blue Earth to visit Lori and her family, and never missing out on a grandchild's event or his great-granddaughter's weekly visits. Raymond also looked forward to traveling and spending time in Arizona with his family and friends.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arlene; children, Randy (Linnea) Peterson, of Crosslake, Lori (Dwight) Olson, of Blue Earth, and Steven (Laurie) Peterson, of Manhattan Beach; grandchildren, Brandon (Amber), Ciarra, Shai and Connor; great-grandchildren, Avery and Ashlyn; brother, David (Florence) Peterson; sisters, Evelyn Abram and Diane Schaper; sister-in-law, Marjie Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.
