BEA track teams are top 3 in SCC

Girls track team finishes 2nd at conference meet

The Blue Earth Area girls track and field team came away from the South Central Conference Track Meet with three relay teams and six individuals earning All-Conference honors.

The girls team results were: Waseca 141.25, BEA 120, Fairmont 114.25, St. Peter 89.5, St. James 64, New Ulm 28.

The 4 x 200-meter relay team consisting of Paige Darrington (28.9), Miranda Johnson (28.1), Shayna Stevermer (28.9) and Anne Franta (27.7) took first place and All-Conference honors with a combined time of 1:53.50.

The 4 x 400-meter relay squad consisting of Taylor Grandgenett (61.4), Shayna Stevermer (64.5), Sofie Blair (67.5) and Karli Olsen (61.7) finished in first place and took All-Conference honors with a combined time of 4:15.25.

The 4 x 100-meter relay team consisting of Darrington, Miranda Johnson, Melissa Hagedorn and Skylee Bell took second place and All-Conference honors.

Grandgenett finished second in the 100-meter high hurdles (16.73) and first in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles earning All-Conference honors in both events.

Franta finished first in the 200-meter dash (27.31) and second in the 400-meter dash (62.72) earning All-Conference honors in both events. Karli Olsen finished third in the 400-meter dash (63.00) and also earned All-Conference honors.

Nicole Lium took first place in the pole vault (7-3) and Madalyn Gaydon finished third (6-6). Both earned All-Conference honors for the Bucs.

Miranda Johnson finished first in the 100-meter dash (27.31) and Skylee Bell took second in the long jump (15-11). Both of the girls earned also earned All-Conference honors at the SCC Championship.

4 x 800-meter relay

Kaitlyn Olsen (2:44.8), Sierra Halvorson (2:51.8), Sofie Blair (2:50.7) and Alissa Norman (2:48.9) finished fifth with a combined time of 11:16.47.

100-meter dash

Bell (sixth, 13.53).

200-meter dash

Bell (sixth, 28.51) and Malorie Huber (29.67).

400-meter dash

Alissa Norman (70.04)

High jump

Grandgenett (sixth, 4-8), Lium (4-8) and Darrington (4-6).

Long jump

Miranda Johnson (fifth, 15-0) and Hannah Johnson (14-5).

Triple jump

Karli Olsen (30- 3/4), Nyla Anderson (29-10) and Lindsey Norman (28-7 1/2).

Shot put

Jennifer Quintero (29-2), Mariah Twedt (27-2) and Mariah Mauris (25-10 1/2).

Discus

Quintero (82-7), Twedt (75-9) and Emily Hynes (60-7).

100-meter high hurdles

Hagedorn (fifth, 17.36) and Zoe Thompson (18.42).

300-meter int. hurdles

Shayna Stevermer (fourth, 51.24) and Hagedorn (54.49).

800-meter run

Karli Olsen (fifth, 2:40.62), Lindsey Norman (2:48.04) and Sam Ripley (2:49.96).

1600-meter run

Callie Stevermer (6:21.70), Mariah Halvorson (6:29.96) and Jenna Stevermer (6:33.50).

3200-meter run

Sierra Halvorson (14:06.46), Kaitlyn Olsen (14:13.67) and Sidney Blair (14:17.32).
