Body of BE man found Tuesday on RR tracks
The body of a 69-year-old Blue Earth man was found by railroad crews last Tuesday west of Blue Earth.
The body was identified as Warren James “Doc” Allen, formerly of Winnebago and Wells but currently had a Blue Earth address.
The Union Pacific Railroad workers contacted local authorities after discovering the body on the track shortly before 11 a.m. on May 27.
The scene of the accident was near the 310th Avenue and 115th Street intersection, near the Martin and Faribault county line, but just inside Martin County.
A news release from the Martin County Sheriff’s office says the incident is still under investigation and no foul play or cause of death has yet been determined.
Martin County Sheriff Captain Corey Klanderud did say the cause of death appeared to be accidental.
Faribault County Sherriff’s officers were the first on the scene and assisted in the investigation, as did the Minnesota State Highway Patrol.
Sheriff Mike Gormley of Faribault County confirmed that Allen’s body had been hit by the train, but repeated that the exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
