Boys, girls 2nd in Sub-section

Girls track will have 9 individuals and 3 relays for Sections

There will be a good representation of Blue Earth Area Buccaneers at the Section 2A track meet at Mankato West on May 31.

At the Sub-section meet, on May 22, nine individuals and three relay teams qualified to move on. The girls team as a whole took second place.

The girls results were: Fairmont 205.5, BEA 156.5, Martin County West 145, LCWM-Nicollet 133, St. James 98 and Madelia/Truman 68.5.

Relay qualifiers

The 4 x 200-meter relay team finished first with a combined time of 1:47.97. The team is composed of: Anne Franta (26.1), Shayna Stevermer (27.2), Skylee Bell (27.2) and Miranda Johnson (27.3).

The 4 x 400-meter relay team also placed first with a combined time of 4:01.36. Team members are: Karli Olsen (59.5), Franta (60.0), Shayna Stevermer (1.5) and Taylor Grandgenett (60.1).

The 4 x 100-meter relay team finished second with a combined time of 51.42. Team qualifiers included: Paige Darrington, Miranda Johnson, Skylee Bell and Anne Franta.

Individual qualifiers

Karli Olsen took first in the 400-meter dash (60.29).

Nicole Lium also qualified with a first place finish in the pole vault (8-6).

Grandgenett captured first place in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (46.54) and she also took second in the 100-meter high hurdles (16.38).

Shayna Stevermer also qualified with a second place finish in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (48.83).

Miranda Johnson finished third in the 100-meter dash (13.07); Melissa Hagedorn took third in the pole vault (7-6); Skylee Bell finished third in the long jump (15-9) and Alissa Norman took fourth in the 400-meter dash (66.05).

Other results

4 x 800-meter relay

Kaitlyn Olsen (2:39.8), Lindsey Norman (2:42.8), Alissa Norman (2:44.4) and Sofie Blair (2:40.8) took fifth, with a combined time total of 10:48.190.

100-meter dash

Katie Allis (14.89) and Brooke Frandle (14.98).

200-meter dash

Malorie Huber (sixth, 29.78), Hannah Johnson (30.40) and Maddie Armon (31.37).

400-meter dash

Sofie Blair (sixth, 66.69).

Pole vault

Madalyn Gaydon (6-6).

High jump

Lium (sixth, 4-8), Darrington (seventh, 4-8) and Sam Ripley (4-4).

Long jump

Hannah Johnson (eighth. 14-1 1/2) and Sidney Blair (12-6 1/2).

Triple jump

Lindsey Norman (30-10 1/4), Nyla Anderson (sixth, 30-5 1/5) and Amanda Jacobson (30-1 1/2).

Shot put

Mariah Twedt (eighth, 28-7), Jennifer Quintero (26-9) and Mariah Mauris (26-1 1/2).

Discus

Twedt (84-8), Quintero (78-8) and Emily Hynes (71-5).

100-meter high hurdles

Melissa Hagedorn (sixth, 17.74) and Zoe Thompson (seventh, 17.89).

300-meter int. hurdles

Huber (seventh, 52.80).

800-meter run

Kaitlyn Olsen (2:42.34) and Sam Ripley finished with a time of 2:43.57.

1600-meter run

Signe Olson (eighth, 6:02.82), Sierra Halvorson (6:18.35) and Callie Stevermer (6:25.82).

3200-meter run

Sidney Blair (eighth, 14:09.14), Mariah Halvorson (14:11.60) and Jenna Stevermer (14:17.40).
