The section 2A, Sub-section 6 track and field meet was a resounding success for the boys Blue Earth Area track team on May 22.
BEA qualified 13 individuals and one relay team (during their second place performance) for the Section 2A meet at Mankato West on May 31.
The boys results were: Fairmont 206, BEA 171, St. James Area 142, Martin County West 131.50, LCWM-Nicollet 119 and Madelia/Truman 68.5.
The 4 x 200-meter relay team finished second with an overall time of 1:32.63. The qualifying team included: Bailey Olson (22.1), Camden Bowers (23.0), Derek Johnson (23.4) and Gus Phillips (24.0).
Bailey Olson finished first in the 200-meter dash (23.37).
Nick Shure was first in the long jump (20-10).
Danny Krieger placed first in the shot put (44-1) and first in discus (128-5).
Brandon Olson took first in the pole vault (11-9), third in the 110-meter high hurdles (16.82) and finished fourth in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (45.10).
Dakota Jahnke finished second in the shot put (40-10).
Bowers took second overall in the triple jump (40-1 1/2).
Chris Sanders was third in the 3200-meter run (10:53.04) and also finished third in the pole vault (10-6).
Isaac Miranda placed third in the 800-meter run (2:10.69).
Gus Phillips also finished fourth in the discus (105-9 1/2).
4 x 100-meter relay
Jacob Johnson, Dakota Jahnke, Camden Bowers and Derek Johnson finished third with a combined time of 46.29.
4 x 400-meter relay
Bowers (55.1), Derek Johnson (54.0), Bailey Olson (52.9) and Miranda (54.8) took fourth with a combined time of 3:36.99.
4 x 800-meter relay
Chris Sanders (2:13.1), Seth Becker (2:18.8), Jordan Stelter (2:26.9) and Kyle Mercer (2:32.9) finished third with a combined time of 9:31.62.
