After a successful season and an exciting playoff push on the ice, two Minnesota Wild players will be visiting Blue Earth on June 26 as part of the Minnesota Wild Road Tour.

Winger Matt Cooke will be representing the Wild and signing autographs in the Wells Fargo parking lot from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

In 2013, Cooke signed a three-year deal with the Wild. Back in 2008-2009, he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Cooke also was a member of the Canadian team at the 2004 World Championships, which won the gold medal. He has also played in the National Hockey Association with the Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals.

Television analyst Mike Greenlay and former Minnesota Wild player Wes Walz will also be on the road tour signing autographs and interacting with fans. Walz currently works as a sports analyst on Fox Sports North for the Wild.

The last time the Minnesota Wild Road Tour stopped in Blue Earth was in 2002, according to Pam Anderson, who is a member of the Wells Fargo hosting committee.

"This was a fantastic event the first time around," she says. "Also, the first 200 fans will receive a Minnesota Wild Road Tour pin."

Also at the event will be representatives from the Fairmont Hockey Association.

"Wells Fargo and the Minnesota Wild want to be associated with a hockey association, but unfortunately, Blue Earth does not have one," treasurer of the Fairmont Hockey Board Randy Lubenow says. "We will also be doing some fundraising in the Wells Fargo parking lot to raise money for youth hockey."

Kids will be able to shoot pucks at a couple of nets which will be set up as well.

Fairmont Hockey Association will also be selling their coupon books at a discounted price.

"Hopefully we can build our program," Lubenow says. "This event will be a great way to get our word out to people in Blue Earth."

On June 24, the tour will visit Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Des Moines, Iowa Waterloo, Iowa, Silver Bay and Hibbing.

On June 25, the tour continues in Morris, Marshall, Mankato, Faribault, Duluth and Pequot Lakes.

The last day of the tour will visit Worthington, Rochester, Red Wing, Princeton and Buffalo.

The road tour will lead up to the Summer Bash/NHL Draft Watching Party on Friday, June 27, at the Xcel Energy Center.
