The Buccaneer gymnasts continue to improve in their scoring, despite tallying some losses along the way.

BEA’s last score came in at 92.95 when they went up against the New Ulm Eagles. This time the Bucs brought in 10 more points when they competed against St. Peter in a conference meet.

Unfortunately it was the Saints gymnasts who snagged the top all-around spots.

St. Peter’s Rebeka Berry took the top spot in all four areas as well as the all-around category. She had 8.85 on the vault, 7.775 on bars, 8.875 on beam and 8.85 with her floor exercise.

Teagan Weiss was second place in all-around, second on vault, third on bars and fourth on beam and second on the floor event.

Maddy Rimstad was third in all-around, third on vault, second on beam and third on the floor.

The Bucs will travel to Mankato on Tuesday, Jan. 27 to face Mankato West and Mankato East in a triangular meet.

Results from that meet will be featured in the next issue of the Faribault County Register.

Despite their team numbers being down this week, the Blue Earth Area gymnasts continue to improve their scores.

Last Monday, the Buccaneers traveled to New Ulm for a meet which had been rescheduled from Dec. 16 which had been cancelled then due to judging conflicts.

And the date the make up meet fell on did not work out in the Bucs’ favor, as some of their girls were unable to compete.

“We had two sick varsity girls,”?co-coach Merissa Lore said.

However, the other gymnasts were able to step up and a couple snagged top positions in the all-around category.

Erin Olson took second place in all-around with an overall score of 25.575. She had 8.1 on vault, 5.85 on bars, 5.5 on beam and 6.125 on floor.
