Sina M. Raney, 75

Delavan Sina Marie (Putnam) Raney was born March 5, 1943, in Mankato, the first of seven children born to Herbert and Thelma (Boettcher) Putnam.

She enjoyed her younger years on her family's farm near Delavan. Sina loved helping her mother with housekeeping, cooking and watching her six younger siblings. After graduating from Delavan High School in 1961, she ventured to Wenatchee, Washington to be housekeeper and childcare provider for her Aunt Helen. A few years later she became a housekeeper at the Washington Area hospital. This is where she met her first husband, Martin Brizer, they were married in 1962, to this union two sons were born, Martin Robert and Jon Herbert. They later divorced and she married her second husband James Raney on Jan. 24, 1970.

She later was employed as the lead cook at the Wenatchee Elementary School. She enjoyed seeing the kid's everyday and watching them grow up throughout the years. She retired in 2016.

Sina and Jim adopted many animals thru the years. She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, reading and camping especially at Icicle Mountain. She also looked forward to traveling home to Minnesota to see family.

Left to cherish her memory; her husband of 48 years, James Raney, of Wenatchee, Washington; two sons, Martin (Chrissy) Raney, of Blue Earth, and Jon (special friend Bev), of Wenatchee, Washington; two grandchildren, Mariah (special friend Todd) Raney, of Elmore; Darrel Raney, of Blue Earth; one great-grandson Jayden.

Her four sisters, Nancy (Jim) Skaret, of Bismarck, North Dakota, Donna Bratulich, of Crystal, Mary Putnam, of Ramsey, and Susan (Doug) Garlick, of Blue Earth; two brothers, Jim Putnam, of Winnebago, and Walter (Rose) Putnam, of Booneville, Iowa; 13 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; and nine great-great nieces and nephews; many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; paternal and maternal grandparents; brother-in-law, John Bratulich, and sister-in-law, Karen Putnam.

Please join us for her celebration of life on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at the East Delavan Lutheran Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Rural Delavan. Lunch to follow at Jonny M's community room in Delavan.
