WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) — A private security officer is behind bars in connection with the human remains that were found in two suitcases three weeks ago along a road in southeastern Wisconsin.
Authorities say the 52-year-old suburban Milwaukee man is a suspect in the death of Laura Simonson, whose remains were found in one of the suitcases in the Town of Geneva. The remains of a second female found in the suitcases have not been identified.
Authorities say the 37-year-old Farmington, Minnesota woman was reported missing by her family in November. Simonson's father, Richard Wierson, tells the Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1nKqDlo ) his daughter has struggled with mental illness and that her seven children were placed in foster care with him in 2010.
Officers wearing hazmat suits removed evidence from the suspect's apartment Wednesday, including a refrigerator.
