The Blue Earth Area girls basketball team defeated Belle Plaine 53-42 on Tuesday night in Blue Earth, in opening round action of the Sub-Section Tournament. They advance to play in Mankato on Friday night, March 6. That game is at 8 p.m. at Mankato East. The Bucs will face the No. 3 seeded Le Sueur-Henderson Giants.
