BE City Council puts Ward question on ballot – Click here for details
After a one day delay in their meeting date, the Blue Earth City Council voted Tuesday night to accept a petition from citizens asking that the question of keeping the ward system in Blue Earth or not be placed on the November ballot. The meeting was not held on Monday night, due to lack of a quorum. Speculation that some council members were purposely boycotting the meeting to prevent the petition from being accepted proved to be unfounded. Present on Tuesday were Council members Paula Kelly, Glenn Gaylord, Les Wiborg and Mayor Rob Hammond. Council members John Huisman and Dan Brod were reported to be on vacation.
