The Blue Earth Area School Board selected three finalists for the position of superintendent to replace Dale Brandsoy, who is retiring.

Those three are Bill Strom, superintendent from Mountain Lake, Tom Ferrell superintendent from BOLD and Evan Gough assistant high school principal at Red Wing.

The decision came at a 5:30 p.m. meeting on Friday night, Feb. 17. The board and a community group spent all day Friday interviewing six candidates before narrowing the field down to three.

The three finalists will be interviewed for a second time this week, with one each day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Public forum meetings will be held at 4 p.m. each day with the candidate meeting the public and answering questions from the public. The interviews will be held each evening at 6:15.

On Thursday night the board will discuss the three finalists and make a decision which one they wish to offer a contract to.
