UPDATED TOTALS – USC school vote passes – Click here for details
The referendum vote in the USC School District passed in the election held on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
The vote in Faribault County was 1,509 yes votes to 1,021 no votes. The total vote with Freeborn and Waseca counties voters added in was 1,687 yes to 1,259 no. In Freeborn County the vote was 173 yes and 238 no, while in Waseca County the vote was 5 yes and 0 no.
The vote enables the USC school board to sell $28.8 million in bonds to finance a new school building for the district.
Out of the 3,053 registered voters in the USC School District area, 83 percent of those living in Faribault County voted in the election.
