The Blue Earth City Council voted 6-0 tonight, April 10, to pass an ordinance that will in essence swap a piece of land in the fairgrounds which the city owns, for a piece of land that encompasses Giant Park and the Giant statue, which the Fair Board owns.

On Tuesday night, the Fair Board had passed a motion to accept the terms of the land swap agreement as presented by the city.

The deal has been debated for the past year.
