Highway 169 reconstruction in Blue Earth nears completion
Highway 169 detour removed by June 7
Motorists in the city of Blue Earth will be able to drive Highway 169 again as early as June 7, weather permitting. The finishing touches on the new highway are being completed and the detour will be removed, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The contractor is also working to complete the resurfacing on the north end of Highway 169 at Blue Earth by the end of next week – June 13.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation thanks the area businesses and residents for their patience and cooperation during the planning and construction of this major investment in the area transportation system. They also thank the project partners including the city of Blue Earth, Faribault County and the Blue Earth Chamber of Commerce for making the improvements a success.
Motorists will experience a smoother, safer and more efficient drive and the city has new utilities and an enhanced transportation system for business. The work is part of MnDOT’s ongoing efforts to preserve Minnesota’s road system, which are the state’s largest physical asset.
