BEA 4×400 relay team second in state – Click here for details

By Staff | Jun 9, 2014

The Blue Earth Area track team had some heartbreaks at the State Track Meet over the weekend. Two athletes did not qualify on Friday to move on to Saturday.

Taylor Grandgenett had a great qualifing run in the hurdles on Friday, but hooked her foot in a hurdle and fell on Saturday, going from first to ninth in a flash. She had been leading at the time.

The 4×200 relay team was DQ’d (disqualified) in their race.

Then it was up to the 4×400 relay team. They set a new BEA school record, but unfortunately were beat out by a half second and took second place. Still not a bad finish to a tough day.

Read all about it, and see photos by Kevin Mertens in the next Faribault County Register.
