Blue Earth’s Jane Doe has been identified as Michelle Busha, 18, of Bay City, Texas.

Busha was killed by an off-duty Minnesota Highway Patrolman in May of 1980 and left in the ditch along I-90 close to Blue Earth. She was never identified and was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth with a marker with the name “Jane Doe.” on it.

Her killer confessed nine years later and was convicted of the crime.

Her body was recently exhumed and new DNA testing was used to learn her identity after 35 years.
