Highway 169 project completion delayed – Click here for details
Completion of Highway 169 construction from Winnebago to Blue Earth moved to November
Added work and rain have pushed out the completion date for the construction on Highway 169 from Winnebago to Blue Earth to early November.
The project, which began on Aug. 20, was expected to be complete in October. However, rain as well as additional work in Winnebago on sidewalk, curb and gutter, and the city water main has added time to the project timeline.
Paving is currently underway in the rural section of the project that extends from the north edge of Winnebago to south of Faribault County Road 6.
Motorists are reminded to drive safely through the work zones and expect brief delays as flaggers and pilot cars manage the traffic.
The 7.6 mile project includes resurfacing the roadway to provide a smoother ride, and storm sewer work as well as sidewalk upgrades in Winnebago. Lighting is also being installed at the intersections of Highway 169 with County Road 6 and County Road 10.
Ulland Brothers, Inc., of Albert Lea, was awarded the contract with a bid of $3,567,060.
