Meeting to be held for Level 3 sex offender

Faribault County authorities will be holding a public notification meeting on Wednesday for a Level 3 sex offender who has recently moved to the county.
Chief Deputy Scott Adams says Ronald John Madsen reported to the sheriff’s office on June 18 after moving from the five-county metro area.
“Right now he’s homeless and living in rural Elmore. I’m going to notify residents out there,” says Adams.
The public notification meeting will be held 1 p.m. at the Blue Earth Public Safety Center’s meeting room located at 120 S. Walnut St.
Adams, Sheriff Mike Gormley, County Attorney Brian Roverud and the Department of Corrections will conduct the meeting.
“We’ll answer any public safety concerns and address questions the public may have,” Adams says.
Because Madsen is designated as a Level 3 offender, he is considered to most likely re-offend.
A Department of Corrections website gives information regarding Madsen’s offense.
It says the 49-year-old has a history of sexual contact with male juveniles age 14.
The contact included Madsen taking nude photos of the victims and exposure. He also possessed numerous pornographic photographs depicting juvenile males.
According to the website, Madsen knew the victims and provided alcohol and marijuana to them prior to contact.
