Four injured in Blue Earth crash

Four persons were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Blue Earth.

Two vans collided on Highway 169 near the crossover between the Pizza Hut and the Shell gasoline station, according to a report from the Minnesota Highway Patrol.

A 2004 Chevy Venture, driven by Susan A. Hill, 65, of Winnebago, was struck broadside by a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Lloyd D. Grant, 80, of Rockwell City, Iowa.

The Chevy Venture was eastbound on the crossover, and the Chrysler Town and Country van was southbound on Highway 169, according to the patrol’s report. The accident occurred just before 2 p.m.

Both drivers were taken to UHD hospital in Blue Earth and were treated and released, according the report.

So were two passengers in the Chrysler van, according to the report. Scott Grant, 51, of Algona, and Shirley Grant, 80, of Rockwell, Iowa, were both treated for unspecified injuries at UHD and released, according the state patrol report.

Also assisting at the scene were the Blue Earth Fire Department and Ambulance.
