The Blue Earth Area School Board feels their superintendent, Dale Brandsoy, is doing a good job.

Grading on a scale of one to five, with five being the best, the board gave Brandsoy a 3.78 rating.

In a closed session at last Monday’s meeting, the School Board graded Brandsoy in 10 different categories, then averaged the results to get the 3.78 result. He received at least a three in each category.

After the closed evaluation session ended, School Board chairman Frankie Bly summarized the session and said the board was “comfortable with Brandsoy’s professionalism.”

“We feel he is doing a good job, especially in the area of staff development, education leadership, and creating the best learning environment possible for our kids,” Bly says.

Another area mentioned by the board was Brandsoy keeping them very well informed at meetings of what is going on at other districts in the area, and on a state level.

The board discussed how education is a unique ‘business,’ and how expectations are constantly changing and ongoing.
