Fausch wants House seat

A Fairmont businessman is offering choice and change in his bid for the District 24A state representative seat.

Democrat Steve Fausch says he decided to challenge incumbent Republican Bob Gunther of Fairmont because he’s furious with what’s going on at the state level.

“People are tired and fed up with the state Legislature and they want to send a message to St. Paul,” he says. “We want to give government back to the people.”

Fausch calls Gunther, who has been in the House since 1995, a “party servant, not a public servant.”

“We don’t have a rural voice anymore. He’s (Gunther) lost touch with people in his district,” he adds.

A lifelong resident of Martin County, Fausch graduated from Mankato State University in 1971 with a degree in business administration. He has farmed and is a state-licensed secondary education teacher for private schools. Fausch also has taught 25 years at Continental Auctioneers Real Estate.
