Don’t miss Winnebago’s 31st Annual Moto Fest

Cars, food and fun are in store for everyone attending this year’s 31st Annual Moto Fest, held in Winnebago Aug. 6-7.

Friday

Activities get underway Friday, Aug. 6, with the Lutheran Pie and Ice Cream Social beginning at 5 p.m. and continuing until 7 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.

Afterwards, visitors will not want to miss the Bathtub Races, beginning at 7 p.m. or the free swimming sponsored by the City of Winnebago.

Saturday

Saturday, Aug. 7, kicks-off with a Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast in the Municipal Center beginning at 6:30 a.m.

The 5K Fun Race or Walk, sponsored by Weerts Co., begins at 8 a.m., along with kids activities, a petting zoo and inflatables being held throughout the day in the West City Park. Also beginning at 8 a.m. in the park is car show registration.

Rodeo Slack Preview is open to the public at 9 a.m. in the West City Park along with an Antique Tractor Showing from 9 a.m.-noon held at 91 Fourth Ave. SE.

The Winnebago Area Museum will open its doors to the public from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Kids will definitely want to make it to the Coin Dig in West City Park at 9:30 a.m. This event is being sponsored by the First Financial Bank in Winnebago.

Immediately following this will be registration at 10 a.m. for the Kiddie Parade which is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. in West City Park.

Start time in West City Park for the Car Show and Special Interest Vehicles is 10 a.m. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m.

At 11 a.m. the food stands open for the day. Moto Fest attendees may try their hand at bingo from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Moto Fest will again host a parade at 3 p.m. followed by a car cruise at 4 p.m.

Saturday night, the Lions Pork Feed is slated for 5-7 p.m. in the Community Center.

Running concurrently with the meal is a rodeo sanctioned by St. Peter Rodeo at West City Park. Shuttle rides will be provided to the event scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the gate for this event.

A special guest rider in the rodeo this year will be Faribault County Sheriff Mike Gormley.

Concluding this year’s Moto Fest celebration is the Lucky Lanes Bowling Night from 8:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. — a fundraiser for Kids Against Hunger, Winnebago Satellite Station — and a Dance with Little Allstars next to Lucky Lanes. Tickets for this event are $5 at the gate or $3 with a rodeo ticket.
