DNR raids two area residences

By Staff | Oct 8, 2012

Faribault County authorities and Department of Natural Resources officers executed search warrants at two rural residences on Friday, Sept. 28.

Chief Deputy Scott Adams says the sheriff’s office helped in writing up the warrant and that he, Sheriff Mike Gormley and three other deputies provided assistance.

“We were involved with entry onto the property and securing it so they could do their search and investigation,” he says.

Richard Sprouse, information officer for DNR enforcement, says no arrests or charges have been filed at this time.

“The investigation is ongoing. There’s a lot of evidence to go through,” he says.

The first search warrant was executed around 8 a.m. at the Brandon Greeley residence, just north of Winnebago on Highway 169.

Adams says the second warrant was for the Robert Greeley residence located southwest of Blue Earth.

Sprouse described the investigations as “natural resources related.”

Besides the five county law officers, there were at least 12 DNR?officers conducting the raids.

“There is always a safety issue and we want to make sure our officers are protected,” says Sprouse.

Adams says the county’s involvement in the two searches ended around 2 p.m.

He says there were no incidences of resistance when authorities went onto the properties.

Sprouse would not say when he expects the investigations to be completed.
