Council holds closed meeting to discuss cop

The Wells City Council scheduled a closed session to discuss the alleged misconduct of an employee.

Officer Steve Siepp, of the Wells Police Department, was placed on paid administrative leave after the Aug. 25 City Council meeting.

The council decided at that time Siepp would remain on leave until the investigation into the allegations were complete.

A closed session was scheduled for the City Council during the Oct. 27 meeting.

That portion of the meeting lasted just more than 10 minutes, while city attorney David Frundt addressed the council on this matter.

“The council received an update on the status of that investigation,” Frundt said. “No action was taken.”

According to city administrator Robin Leslie, the investigation is not complete, and the officer remains on paid leave until the council can take action on the situation.

In officer Siepp’s absence, the Wells police department has been able to fill out the shifts for the time being.
